Welcome to my website. My name is Alexander Massey, and I have been singing professionally for 30 years, and teaching singing for over 25 years, working with a lot of different singers, in many musical styles.

I train professional singers and singing teachers, and am very experienced in dealing with the psychological aspects of voice development and performance. Lessons include clear explanation of vocal anatomy and function, how each technique creates certain physical sensations and sounds, and what is healthy for the voice. I also teach how to navigate the central aspects of thought processes and emotions (the 'inner game') in order to attain true vocal mastery.

On this website, you'll find some ideas to get you started straight away on improving your singing voice (free resources, videos, articles and links).

If you want to contact me about lessons, please do the following:
  1. Read about how I work and what I offer, and look at some of the resources to get a feel for whether you and I might be a good working match for each other. You could also look at the one or two of the short teaching videos.
  2. Check that you match my eligibility criteria for students.
  3. Go to the enquiries page, download the enquiry form, complete it, save it, and email it back to me.
The background information you write to me in your enquiry form or a detailed email about your singing background and goals helps speed the whole process of assessment. I respond to all enquirers. Though I would love to be able to, I cannot speak with everyone who contacts me because with the number of enquiries this would be impractical - so please do not phone before you have written to me with some information about yourself.
